The connected car is much more than only a technology thing. It also allows the workshop owner to improve customer loyalty by linking the customer car directly to the workshop. At Automechanika, the Italian company Texa got an Innovation award for its TMD Mobility solution which supports diagnostics remotely.
Whereas the TMD product range is focused on large fleet owners, Texa also provides a comparable system for the workshop. The Texa CARe system connects the workshop with the customer’s car. CARe is a multi-brand device to connect cars on line. It plugs into the OBD socket with a simple click and connects to the customer’s smart phone via Bluetooth. The phone is the interface for communicating with the workshop.
It offers the shop owner a unique opportunity to boost customer loyalty by monitoring the car constantly. In case of sudden faults it can help the technician carry out a remote diagnosis. It also supports the workshop in arranging appointments for regular check-ups.
